Mr N K Mehra

After graduating from the Delhi University, Mr. Narendra Kumar Mehra started his publishing career in 1959 with Asia Publishing House which at that time was the largest publisher in India. After seven years he joined UBS Publishers Distributors where he became the Sales Director. Subsequently he joined Springer-Verlag (S-V) in 1973 and in agreement with them set up his own two companies Narosa Book Distributors (NBD) to distribute books and Narosa Publishing House (NPH) to publish in STM areas. At NPH he launched the series Springer International Student Editions by publishing the first five reprints of Springer books. Thereafter he went on to establish Springer Books (India) Pvt. Ltd. and became the exclusive distributor for S-V.

Nandi (as he is popularly known) has a rich experience of almost fifty years in the publishing world and served on the Executive Committee of the Federation of Publishers and Book Sellers of India where he was elected President for two-terms. Currently he is the President of The Federation of Indian Publishers having been on its Executive Committee for close to ten years and also a Member of Publishers & Booksellers Guild, Kolkata.
